Music, movement and rhythm – brought to life for learners
School drumming and dance workshops for primary and high schools in Cape Town, run on your premises.
Workshops learners love, and teachers can build on
Every learner gets a drum. Our facilitators lead the group through call-and-response rhythms, simple songs and movement, so the whole hall is playing together within minutes. It’s loud, joyful and inclusive, and learners of every ability can take part.
Nurturing creativity, expression and confidence
Schools book us for cultural days, enrichment programmes and special events. Alongside the fun, learners practise listening, focus and teamwork, and discover the African musical traditions our facilitators grew up with.
Joyful learning beyond the classroom
What learners take away:

Active listening and participation
Learners are encouraged to listen, respond and participate together through rhythm, call-and-response and movement, building focus and engagement in a fun, supportive environment.

Confidence and self-expression
Drumming, singing and movement give learners a safe space to express themselves, helping build confidence, creativity and a sense of achievement.

Belonging and togetherness
Working in rhythm as a group fosters inclusion, cooperation and a strong sense of belonging, reinforcing positive social interaction among learners.

Cultural awareness and appreciation
Sessions introduce learners to African rhythms, songs and movement, supporting cultural learning and appreciation in an accessible, hands-on way.
Why the Kabako method works
Interactive drumming is more than an activity – it’s a high-participation coordination experience that pulls a group into shared attention. Kabako sessions follow a deliberate arc designed to turn that presence into cohesion, energy and a genuine sense of “we”.
